Sri Krishna Janmashtami celebrates the birthday of Lord Krishna
and is observed on the eighth day of the Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapad
month as per traditional calendar followed in North India. The
BGIS celebrated Janamashtami on 2nd September.
The whole program was organized by the gurukul students. From
the ancient prison like entrance to the most attractive stage
with a small water pond, everything was decorated by the team
of creative BGIS-ians. The program started with mangla charan
by the team of 6 mrdanga players of 4-6 class students then continued
by senior mrdanga players who were trained by world famous Bablu
prabhu of our school. It was followed by harinaam sankirtan and
bhajans led by Durjaya pr who teaches music to school.
Then students started performing different- different pastimes
of Lord like Aghasur vadh (Killing of demon Aghasura), Gobardhan
Leela (Gobardhan Hill Liffting), Rukmini Escape, Kamsa vadha (Killing
of Kamsa) etc. All class students from 1st – 12th performed and
participated in the plays. There was Haveli Sangeet performance
by one of our school’s brajwasi student, Prathmesh Goswami Maharaj
which had taken the heart of all the audience and our guests.
The presence of our honorable guest like H.H. Radharaman Swami,
H.H. Prabodanand sarasvati Swami, H.H Gaur Narayan Swami, Deena
Bandhu Prabhu, Daivi Shakti Mataji had made the evening memorable.
The students of BMS college Agra, were also invited and attended
the whole evening with full of enthusiasm. The whole environment
become more pleasing when the ex- gurukula students attended the
program to boost up the confidence of their juniors.
All the students were very excited to make all the arrangements.
Without enough sleep, with observing ithe fasting for Janamastami
(Fasting till Mid night) they made all the arrangements which
itself very appreciable. There were also prasadam and games stalls
organized by the students of 11th Grade.
At sharp 10:30 p.m. we started the abhishekam of lord Radhasyamsunder
and Laddu Gopal. After the abhishekam 56 items were offered to
Krsna which were cooked by Shukla Mata Ji (One of the faculty
member of Gurukul). All the guests were overjoyed after seeing
the crackers in the sky at sharp 12:00 midnight (Which is considered
as the birth time of Lord Krsna). Everyone had proper prashadam
after the program.
As per the old teachers and staff members, they’ve never attended
such a wonderful program in the past. Radhakanta Prabhu (Vice
Principle) was very pleased with the arrangements made by students.
Anand Vrndavan Mataji (ex-director of BGIS) joined the program
in between to bless all the students. The whole program was organized
by Yogesh Yadav Prabhu, Himanshu Prabhu (IITian), Rahul prabhu,
Somil prabhu and Hitesh prabhu. Music programs were organized
by Durjaya prabhu and Babalu prabhu. Plays were organized and
directed by Sanjay Prabhu (who’s known as the Shakespeare of BGIS)
Sursena Prabhu and teachers of Primary grades. Everyone was very
pleased and the atmosphere of joy which proved that Krsna himself
was very happy with the efforts of His children devotees.
